Percy Lee Stinson, 84, born in Butler and a resident of Stapleton, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Thomas Hospital. He was an inside machinist (retired) at Ingalls Shipyard. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Ruth Tuberville Stinson of Stapleton; two daughters, Patsy Lee Summers of Stapleton, and Jeannie Ruth Stinson of White House Fork; three sisters, Verdie Weaver of Stapleton, Opal Black of Frisco City, and Janie Finlayson of Union Springs; two half brothers; two half sisters; five grandchildren, Regina Kovachick, Lisa Davison, Dana Findley, Danny Dykes, and Rocky Dykes; eight great-grandchildren, Blake Luker, Emma Kovachick, Eion Kovachick, Madeline Findley, Oliver Findley, Landon Findley, Jesse Dykes and Jayden Dykes.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Lee Stinson, a daughter, Linda Darlene Stinson and a grandson, Jesse Ray Summers.
Funeral services were Feb. 10 at Stapleton Church of God with the Rev. J.P. Lambert officiating. Burial was at White House Fork Baptist Cemetery.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Stapleton Church of God with Reverend J. P. Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at White House Fork Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chuck Kovachick, Danny Dykes, Rocky Dykes, Donnie Findley, Blake Luker and Tex Stinson.
