Pre-K students in Mrs. Glinda Dennis’s class celebrated Valentine’s Day with a wide variety of activities. Students were involved in creating several works of art. Their “Thumb-ody Loves You” artwork, in which they made their thumb prints around a cut-out of a heart. In the center of the heart, they had a photograph of themselves. All of the students added their individual hand prints to create a “Hands Touch Hearts” wreath.
After reading the book Guess How Much I Love You, the children made a special gift to take home to their parents. Spreading their arms as wide as they could, the students measured a piece of red yarn. They folded their yarn into a specially decorated envelope with the words from the title of the book on a sticker. Of course their favorite activity was playing postman by delivering their valentines to their friends’ boxes.
