PERDIDO KEY, Fla. -- Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce will present the Perdido Springfest & Fair. on Tuesday, March 20 and opens weekdays at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m.
The five-5 day event is an annual fundraiser for Perdido Bay Youth Sports Association (PBYSA). Their new youth football league is the beneficiary in 2012. This exciting community event is hosted at Liberty Church’s Jim Downey Field at 2221 S. Blue Angel Parkway.
There will be five days of full-blown family friendly fun; thrilling carnival rides & games by James Gang Amusements, concessions, a vendor marketplace and live entertainment. Entertainers include Tanya Gallagher, The Brighter, Chasing Fridays, Lea Anne Creswell, Rick Whaley, Brittany Grimes, Edify, Matt Mills & the Liberty Church Praise Band, Local Mullet, Shout! The Anthem, and more.
The 2011 Perdido Springfest & Fair was very well attended by approximately 5,500 people making it by far the largest family friendly event in the Perdido area and 2012 will be an even bigger year!
The event takes place during the same week as Escambia County public school’s spring break. Perdido Springfest & Fair is a great activity to take your family to whether you are a resident on your spring break or a visitor here on yours. Military discounts are also offered everyday with military ID.
On Saturday, March 24, we salute America’s pastime, baseball. Bring baseballs, bats and hats on Saturday to be autographed by a number of former professional baseball players, find out more about the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and meet Peter J. Mulry, author of Conversations in the 7th Inning of My Life-Life Skills Through Sports.
This book is written with the help of 30 former state champion athletes, all of whom Coach Mulry had the privilege to coach. In the book they reflect on the life skills acquired during their years as players and how those skills helped them in the game of life.
Net proceeds from the autograph signings and book sales benefit PBYSA. Please check the website for exactly when players will be available for autographs, as well as when the Blue Wahoos staff and Mr. Mulry will be available. The schedules are still being set and we don’t want to leave anyone out!
Admission is free. Parking is free. Tickets for rides and unlimited ride wristbands will be sold at the event. Games, concessions and goods by vendors will all be offered as well, but you are welcome to just come and enjoy the entertainment and the sounds and sights of the fair.
