Mrs. Sarah Seitz’ kindergarten class at J. Larry Newton School worked collaboratively with their sixth grade buddy, Lane Domino, to prepare a pumpkin for carving. Before carving, the children estimated the number of seeds. The children were hesitant to use their hands to help clean out the pumpkin, but after a few minutes, everyone wanted to help remove the seeds. The pumpkin has been carved and the children are enjoying the glow of the candle as a ghost appears on the pumpkin. The pumpkin seeds will be roasted so the children can count the seeds and taste them for a treat.
