Jennifer Ann Phillips and Zachary Wayne Gatlin Jr. were united in marriage June 6, 2009 at Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The Rev. Monsignor Michael L. Farmer officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Leon Pendleton and John David Phillips Jr. She is and the granddaughter of Mrs. Simpson Carter Chappell, and the late Simpson Carter Chappell and Mrs. John Phillips Van Hook, and the late John David Phillips.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Zachary Wayne Gatlin Sr. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Talmas O’Neal Gatlin and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Malcolm Hines.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Kathryn Tara Johnson served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Day Carrigan, Megan Nan Dulion, Ashleigh Ruth Gaddy, Kathryn Dearing Lo Porto, Jillian Blair Phillips, sister of the bride, Sonya Ann Sokolash, and Laura Marie Van Fleet.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were James Roger Barton II, Thomas Benton Bender, Laurence Dale Coker, Ricky Lee Fields, Samual Wayne Haney, John Michael Napper, and Brian Christopher Smith. Honorary groomsman was John David Phillips III, brother of the bride.
Flower girls were Maria Alena Crews and Audrey O’Conner Phillips, cousins of the bride. Ring bearers were Thomas Smith Knapstein and Ford Gregson Taylor, nephews of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Matthew Bishop Frost, Jacob Tyler Napper and Miles Nelson Zadnicheck.
A reception in the Crystal Ballroom at the Battle House Hotel followed the ceremony.
After a honeymoon to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Daphne.
