October 22, 2010, Loxley AL Faculty and staff at Loxley Elementary honored their school secretary, Angie Mimms, on October 22 by wearing pink t-shirts. Mrs. Mimms is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The staff at Loxley wanted to encourage Mrs. Mimms and bring awareness to breast cancer. The shirts were custom made and featured the breast cancer pink ribbon and Mrs. Mimms' name. Earlier in the month, fifth graders honored Mrs. Mimms with gift cards and a pink ribbon cake.
