GULF BREEZE, Fla. - The Fairhope Pirate boys finished in third place in the Alec Kessler Memorial Tournament in Gulf Breeze, Fla. last week.
After defeating Catholic 62-41 on Monday, the Pirates fell to Milton (Fla.) 53-29 on Tuesday.
Fairhope fell behind 16-3 in the first period against Milton and never led or tied the game. After closing Milton’s lead to 30-22 by halftime, the Pirates were held to just seven second half points.
Milton outscored Fairhope 15-3 in the final period.
Tyler Baggerly was the only Pirate to reach double figures, scoring 10 points in the loss.
Against Catholic on Monday, Jerome Jackson led Fairhope with 14 points. Tripp Drummond added 13 points, while Harvey Mitchell and Baggerly had 10 each.
Fairhope defeated Ooltewah (Tenn.) 63-52 in the third-place game on Wednesday.
Maurice Jackson and Baggerly had 13 points each in the win, while Jerome Jackson and Tripp Drummond had 10 each.
Fairhope improved to 8-5 with the win.
Fairhope will host Robertsdale on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
