FAIRHOPE, Ala. — At 11:45 a.m. today, a wooden boat created by Hal Biering will be dedicated by members of the Quail Creek Pool and Racquet Club, along with a new playground area adjacent to the pool and tennis courts, in the Quail Creek subdivision east of town.

“We will christen it ‘Hal’s Ark,’” said Dave Glenn, president of the group. “Hal (Biering) built the boat as well as the new picnic tables there.”

Glenn said the additions to the club are the first in 20 years and include a horseshoe court. He said the ceremony is open to the public.
