Planners weigh Publix proposal

SPANISH FORT, Ala. — Planning Commission members got their first glance Monday night at proposed plans for construction of a Publix Super Market on a site just north of Belk in the Eastern Shore Centre.

Building Official Bruce Renkert said, if approved, the proposed 54,817-square-foot structure will be situated on about nine acres north of Eastern Shore Drive and west of Eastern Shore Boulevard.
