DAPHNE, Ala. — Daphne High School’s Agriscience Department has set a plant sale for this Saturday and April 3, 7 to 10 a.m., at the greenhouse behind the school on Lawson Road.

There are 42,000 spring and summer plants available; among those are 6-inch pots of geraniums, dusty miller, gerbera daisies, ivy, gomphrenia, rudbeccia, asparagus fern, Boston fern, red fountain grass and hostas. Hanging baskets include ambassador and dragon wing begonias and New Guinea impatiens; there also will be flats of begonias, coleus, salvia, torenia, impatiens, lantana and several colors of vinca. Herbs and vegetables, such as tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, also will be available.

Lake Forest Garden Club members will offer assistance, as will students who will load plants into patrons’ vehicles.

Sale proceeds will support agriscience programs — such as contests students take part in through county, state and national events — and beautification.
