After July 4 we start turning our thoughts toward school. It just cannot be helped with all the school clothes/supply store sales advertised on TV and in newspapers.
But wait! Summer is not over for the children, parents or us teachers. We need to savor every drop of summer with warm summer winds, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, the lapping sounds of waves hitting our Eastern Shore. Storing up the sights, sounds and smells of summer in our memory banks can be withdrawn to help us survive a cold winter day!
Let’s enjoy the rest of summer—yes, I know some might wonder just how to do that when prices are more than our budget can support. But you can provide a fun filled summer of entertainment, activities, and a vacation right from home. Let’s make the rest of our kids’ summer one to remember with little costs. If you get excited, your young children will too.
