GULF SHORES, Ala. — If you were looking for a bargain, some great gift ideas and home-cooked food, Pleasure Island was the place to be Saturday.
At Gulf Shores United Methodist, the church’s women’s group held its annual Market Place Bazaar. For sale were arts and crafts, baked goods, frozen casseroles, jams, jellies, pickles, books and a silent auction of donated items. There was also a chicken gumbo lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church had its third annual Mission Festival Service Fair from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The event benefitted the Baldwin County. Sheriffs’ Youth Ranch. Residents of the ranch cooked and sold whole Boston butts and sandwiches and music was provided by by the Jubilee Pickers.
Over in Orange Beach at the Community Center, the Relay for Life team had it’s eighth annual Big yard and Craft sale. A huge crowd looked over the offerings Saturday morning from 7 a.m. to noon. Proceeds from the sale are directly donated to the American Cancer Society on behalf of the Relay for Life campaign.
Sausage biscuits and gravy and coffee were also available.
