LOXLEY, Ala. — Courtney Williams, 23, has been captured. Williams is accused of shooting at a female through the bathroom door of the Waffle House restaurant in Loxley. The incident happened Friday, March 5 at approximately 10:20 p.m.
Then, according to Loxley police, a woman ran into the restaurant. She was pursued by a man police have identified as Williams. The man followed the woman into the restaurant.
The woman locked herself in the men’s restroom, and the man fired three shots from a .32 caliber revolver into the bathroom dPhotosoor and fled the scene.
No one was hurt in the incident, Loxley police say.
Williams was not apprehended at the scene, but fled on foot. He remained at large.
On Sunday, March 21, Baldwin County Sheriff deputies spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 59. According to Capt. Stephen Arthur, “Mr. Williams was arrested by one of our patrol deputies last week during a traffic stop in the Robertsdale area.”
According to Arthur, “Mr. Williams was found to be in possession of a .38 caliber pistol and some crack cocaine that he admitted was his.”
An employee of the Loxley Waffle House contacted in early March declined comment on the shooting. According to Kelly Thrasher of Waffle House, “The safety of our Customers and Associates is our first priority. We are cooperating with the police in this matter.”
The woman has not been identified by Loxley police.
Lt. Doug Phillips a spokesman for the Loxley Police Department, said Williams was identified by the intended victim and others, and that Williams was originally form the Mobile area but has been living in the Robertsdale/Loxley area, “for the past several years.”
