Editor's note: The Independent received new information soon after presstime on Wednesday. Following is an updated report.
The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report that a woman was attacked at the Interstate 10 welcome center at the Alabama-Florida line.
The 22-year-old woman from Bradenton, Fla., reported that two men punched her
in the face and robbed her of $1,900. She had stopped at the rest stop to check her tires. One of them was making a noise, and she thought it might be flat. The victim
old deputies she was not able to identify her attackers.
At this time, no arrests have been made. The incident is under investigation.
