LOXLEY, Ala. — A routine traffic stop Monday, Jan. 11 turned into a methamphetamine bust.
According to a press release by Lt. Doug Phillips of the Loxley Police Department an officer, “stopped a 1998 Honda Accord on the west bound onramp of Interstate 10 at Highway 59 for a traffic violation.”
One of the vehicle’s occupants ran away and police conducted a search of the car, discovering components for the manufacture of methamphetamine and 18 grams of the substance.
Tommy Joe Laughlin, of Eight Mile, and Roy Noyal Reed Jr., of Axis, both 40, were arrested. The third man in the vehicle was identified as Timothy Seabury, of Mount Vernon. Anybody with knowledge of his whereabouts should call the Loxley police department at 964-6000. Reed and Laughlin are in jail.
According to the Baldwin County Corrections Center Web site, Laughlin is being held on charges involving possession of a controlled substance, manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and traffic charges. His bail totals more than $32,000. Reed faces similar charges, and his bail totals more than $31,000. Seabury will face similar charges when he is captured.
