Catherine Louise Popkin, 56, a native of Decatur, Ill., and a resident of Orange Beach, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007.
She was a graduate of Douglas McArthur High School, Decatur, Ill., and a graduate of Ottawa University, Ottawa, Kan. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ill., where she and her father, Kenneth Davidson, were longtime members of the U.M.C. Bell Choir. She was active in the Red Cross and the Lincoln Theatre restoration. Her father owned Bowman Welding in Decatur, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Davidson of Decatur, Ill., and a brother, Ross Davidson of Peoria, Ill.
Survivors include her husband, George Popkin of Orange Beach; brother, Bruce Davidson of Marco Island, Fla.; and cousin, Susie Wyness of Islamoraka, Fla.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Gulf World Marine Park, c/o Jimmy Boyd, P.O. Box 2077, Gulf Shores, AL, 36547, because of her love of Dolphins.
