Melissa Ann Posey of Pensacola, Fla., and John Patrick Furman of Loxley were united in marriage May 17, 2008 at St. Thomas By The Sea Catholic Church in Orange Beach. The Rev. Patrick Madden officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Owen S. Posey of Haleyville. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert J. Furman Jr. of Camden.

The bride graduated from St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, Auburn University, and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham. She practices law in Florida and Alabama.

The bridegroom graduated from Wilcox Academy in Camden, Tulane University in New Orleans, and Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa. He practices law in Mobile, Baldwin and Wilcox Counties in Alabama.

Mrs. Charles O. Harp of Pensacola, Fla., sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Steven Helsing of Altanta and Mrs. Lawrence Stacy of Mobile.

Herbert J. Furman Jr., father of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Charles O. Harp of Pensacola and James Furman, brother of the bridegroom.

Vicki Hamrick of Enterprise, Miss., was a lector.

Flower girls were Schyler Stacy and Lauren Helsing.

A reception at Cusack Hall followed the ceremony.

After a honeymoon to Wakulla Springs, Fla., the couple resides in Loxley.
