William “Bill” Nathan Powell, 57, a native of Enon, Fla., and a resident of Atmore, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at his residence.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Powell of Atmore and Shane (Sonya) Powell of White House Fork; three brothers, Dollan Powell of Crossroads, Leon “BoBo” Powell of Fairhope and Bertice Lee Powell Jr. of North Carolina; six sisters, Clauice Donald of White House Fork, Opal Vinson of Crossroads, Jeanette Smith of Bay Minette, Mable Leggett of Stapleton, Virginia Leggett of Bay Minette and Tyicse Brown of Phillipsville; six grandchildren, Michael Shane Powell, Seth O'Neal Powell, Nathan Shane Powell, Christopher O'Neal Powell, Anna Lee Smith and Carlton Joseph "CJ" Powell; and close friend Paulette Overstreet of Atmore.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 2 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Hall officiating. Burial was in the Crossroads Cemetery.
