James Lee Powell, 79, a native of Birmingham and a resident of Daphne, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 at his residence.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in the Phillipines.
He was preceded in death by one son, James D. Powell and one daughter, Betty Jean Powell.
Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Powell of Daphne; son, John Lee Powell of Madison, Miss.; step-son, Ronald F. Duchac of Silverhill; two daughters, Joyce Capolla of Columbus, Ohio, and Josephine Gowen of Hampton, Va.; daughter-in-law, Lanelle Powell of Oxford; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Aug. 15 at South Baldwin Christian Church in Foley.
The family requests memorial donations be made to your local Shriners Temple, in the name of Justin Bryce Powell.
