Tara Michelle Pridgen of Birmingham and Kyle Benson Davis of LaGrange, Ga., were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009 at South Highland Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. The Rev. Dennison Read officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Diane Marie McDannel of Springville and Joseph Phillip Pridgen Jr. of Brentwood, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rex Donald Hollis of Birmingham and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Phillip Pridgen Sr. of Bay Minette.
She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received her Bachelor of Science in education, and of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received her Master of Education.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Young Davis of LaGrange, Ga. He is the grandson of Mrs. A.D. Davis of Pine Mountain, Ga., and the late Mr. Davis and of Mrs. Herbert Columbus Leggett of Atlanta and the late Mr. Leggett.
He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received his Bachelor of Science in wildlife management. He is a captain in the U.S. Army.
Amanda Pridgen Thames, sister of the bride, of Birmingham, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Allison Lee Davis, sister of the bridegroom, of LaGrange, Ga., Laurel Ann Keefer, cousin of the bride, of Raleigh, N.C., Sara Elizabeth Blaylock, Jennifer Louise Houseman, and Madison Anne McBee, all of Dallas; Megan Ann Mann of Tifton, Ga., Lillian Abigail Moore, Margaret Cooper Scott, Mary Chollet Still, Kathryn Wright Ward and Katherine Blake Watson, all of Birmingham.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Joshua Young Davis, brother of the bridegroom, of LaGrange, Ga., Thomas Perry Lee Jr., Robert Oliver McNearney III, Ryan Lyle Meeks and Thomas Anderson Yates, all of LaGrange; Owen James Clark of Albany, Ga., Robert Benjamin Connor of Augusta, Ga., Scotty Douglass Fain II of Hiawassee, Ga. and William Augustus Holbrook IV of Rome, Ga.
Ushers were Taylor Elliot Bruce and Andrew Knox Skinner, both of LaGrange; and Andrew Derrick Latta of Trion, Ga.
A reception at Matt Jones Gallery followed the ceremony.
After a trip to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Fayetteville, N.C.
