Amanda Leigh Pridgen of Birmingham and Joseph Britton Thames of Tuscaloosa were united in marriage at 6 p.m. June 30, 2007 at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Birmingham. The Rev. David Meginniss and the Rev. Charles Youngson officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Diane Marie McDannel of Springville and Joseph Phillip Pridgen Jr. of Brentwood, Tenn. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Murray Thames of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Mobile.

The bride is a graduate of Auburn University, where she received her bachelor of science in business administration and master of accountancy. She is a CPA and is employed by Southern Progress Corporation in Birmingham.

She is the granddaughter of Rex Donald Hollis and the late Ardyce Mae Hollis of Birmingham and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Phillip Pridgen Sr. of Bay Minette. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Victor Salter of Peterman and the late Mr. and Mrs. James S. Pridgen Sr. of Enterprise.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Samford University, where he received his bachelor of science in business administration, and is employed by Tamko Roofing Products in Tuscaloosa.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Brown of Mobile, Mr. and Mrs. James Christopher Britton Jr. of Mobile, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Beauregard Thames.

Tara Pridgen, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ely Adams, Anna Barnes, Jane Chambliss, Ashton Collier, April Cone, and Carol Dobbs, all of Birmingham; Lauren Britton of Athens, Ga.; Blakely Francis and Colby Harpool of Atlanta. Junior bridesmaids were Savannah Norris of Birmingham and Laurel Keefer of Raleigh, N.C.

The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Alex Thames, brother of the bridegroom, of Tuscaloosa, Jay Britton, cousin of the bridegroom, of New York, Jace Gordon, Andrew Gunn, Luke Gunnells, Blake Roberson, and Justin Truelove, all of Birmingham; James-Paul Dill of Tuscaloosa; Will Davis of Tallahassee, Fla.; and Matt McBride of Hilton Head, S.C.

Mattie Garrett of Marietta, Ga., served as flower girl.

A reception followed the ceremony at Vestavia Country Club.

After a trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Birmingham.
