Progress continues on fecal matter ordinance

The Foley City Council had the second reading of a new ordinance that would require pet owners to pick up canine fecal matter. The ordinance was first brought forth earlier this month. Police Chief David Wilson has previously said the ordinace is much like those of neighboring communities. This is the second animal-related ordinance the city council has set forth this year — the first being a vicious dog ordinance that was passed by the council that allows punitive action to be taken against those who do not take responsibility for their vicious animals per the ordinance.
