Jesse Arnold Prouse, 78, a native of Pascagoula, Miss., and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Thursday, May 27, 2010.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from International Paper in 1993 with over 25 years of service and was a member of Faith Family Fellowship. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Stringer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Jean Prouse of Spanish Fort; two daughters, Cindy (David) Lober of Denham Springs, La., and Susan Stringer of Spanish Fort; five grandchildren, Jennifer Lober (Jason) Colee of Spanish Fort, Aimee Lober (Kevin) Farrar of Birmingham, Samuel Lober of Birmingham, Sarah Walker and Will Stringer, both of Spanish Fort; and three great-grandchildren, Emma and Jake Colee, and Caleb Farrar.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
