Pryor Eugene Cosby, 89, a native of Ramer And a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010.

He earned a Bachelor of Science from The University of Wisconsin, majoring in economics. He served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force in World War II and the Korean Conflict as Chief Officer, External Relations Branch, Public Information Office, 15th Air Force.

He will be remembered as a true visionary. His forward thinking, tremendously positive attitude, zest for life and love for people transformed the lives of those who knew and loved him.

He was a charter member of St. Andrew by the Sea, a Community Church in Gulf Shores.

Survivors include two brothers, William Hobbie (Lois) Cosby of Pensacola, Fla, and the Rev. James Haywood (June) Cosby of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five children, Pamela Davis of Los Angeles, Dr. Brent Davis of Nashville, Tenn., Brett Cosby of Martinez, Calif., Bruce (Gemina) Cosby of Springfield, Ill., and Carla (Bill) Waters of Robertsdale; six grandchildren, Melinda Leuthold, Allegra Leuthold, Julian Leuthold, Kyle Cosby, Jordan Cosby, and Ashli Cosby; two nieces and one nephew.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11 at St. Andrew by the Sea. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Ramer Cemetery, Ramer, Ala.

The family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
