FAIRHOPE, Ala. - While many Fairhope residents might want to attend the dedication of the new Fairhope Elementary School on Thursday, Nov. 4 - including current students, parents and teachers - many others in town might have a special reason for attending as well.
“Many people have said this is the location where they went to high school or middle school,” said FES Prinicpal Terry Beasley. “It is an excellent opportunity for them to see the ‘new and improved’ facility.”
The new elementary school was built on the site of the former middle school, which is now located next to the high school on Greeno Road.
And for many years before that, the scenic locale atop a hill on North Section Street was the home of Fairhope High School.
"This will be the 'official opening' of the new elementary school," Beasley said. "Those who have visited the new school can't believe the difference."
Many elected officials and staff, school administrators, principals, school business partners, charitable group board members and leaders, retired teachers and other school supporters have been invited to the Nov. 4 event, to which the public is also invited.
The dedication of FES is at 5 - 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4. FES is located at 403 N. Section St. For more information, call 928-8400, or visit the school's website at www.fairhopeelementary.com.
