A public rosary will be prayed at noon Oct. 13 at Christ the King Church on Main Street.

The date commemorates 90 years since the Blessed Virgin reportedly appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal.

She reportedly told the children to pray, and warned humankind to amend their lives to stop sin’s influence on the world.

About 70,000 people witnessed the event, which also included a “miracle,” during which the rain poured and the “sun burst forth and began dancing in the sky … ,” Pat Ernst, spokesperson, said in a news release. “This transpired for about 10 minutes, after which people noticed that their soaked clothes and the soaked ground were dry.”
