SILVERHILL, Alabama — All aboard the Pumpkin Patch Express at Wales West RV Resort and Light Railway, 13670 Smiley St., off of County Road 9, 1.5 miles south of County Road 48 and 2.5 miles north of County Road 32, between Fairhope and Silverhill.
Ride an authentic steam train to the haunted barn maze and kiddie-friendly pumpkin patch, decorate a free pumpkin, enjoy refreshments, miniature train ride, hay ride and children’s inflatable. Additional activities for a small fee include a pumpkin canon, pony ride, petting zoo, snack shop and gift shop.
Wales West will be open beginning Friday, Oct. 2 through Saturday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, noon to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend scary night trains start Friday, Oct. 9 with nightly scary night trains beginning Friday, Oct. 23. Cost of admission is $15 per person, plus tax. Admission is free for children 2 and under.
Wales West begins its 10th season of live bluegrass/gospel music starting Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. and runs every Tuesday evening through December. In January Friday nights are added, 7 to 9 p.m. A $5 donation is suggested with free refreshments.
