Posted

Queen Candace Antinarella will reign over the 19th Annual Apollo’s Mystic Ladies parade and ball on Friday, February 22, 2019 in Daphne. This year’s theme will be Carnivale Jubilee. AML will parade 9 floats through the streets of Daphne with the ladies depicting float themes such as Venetian Butterflies, Feisty Feathers, Far East Carnival, and Shaken Senoras among others.

Queen Daphne will be escorted by her husband, Charles. She is a native of the Eastern Shore, resident of Fairhope and is the daughter of Terry Garner and Beverly Walker. The Queen and her husband have two sons, Caleb and Carter, a daughter in law Taylor and a grandson Jaxon. Queen Candace has been a member of Apollo’s Mystic Ladies since 2005 where she has served as a board member, committee chair and served on many committees. She is a graduate of the University of Alabama and is employed as the City Clerk of the City of Daphne. The Queen volunteers in the community on many foundations most notably as a Fairhope Youth Baseball Board Member and she as a member of the Leadership Baldwin County Class of 2019.

Queen Daphne is wearing a Maggie Sottero gown hand crafted and hand stitched with Swarovski crystals and pearls. This beatifically crafted empire waist corset gown with a beaded bodice and full gathering on the skirt is named Victorianna as the designer named each of her unique gowns.

Her train is quilted silver satin adorned with Swarovski crystal buttons. A magnificent cracked ice fleur de lis, accented with holographic silver sequin trim, is the focal point of the regal 14-foot train. Other accents include rhinestone appliques of sentiments dear to Queen Daphne, such as a Maltese Cross and baseball diamond representing her sons. The initials of her grandfathers are embedded in their memory and will walk with her. A hidden rhinestone Mickey head represents the Queen’s love for Disney as well as a replica of Denny Chimes for her Alma Mater.

Queen Daphne’s mantle has seven petals to represent the float on which she rides. It is made of embroidered lace and embellished with Swarovski crystals, holographic silver sequins and hand strung beads and pearl trim. The train and mantle were both hand stitched by the artful hands of the very talented designers, Randy & Sherry Palmer.

Queen Candace’s crown and matching scepter were designed and chosen by Candace and hand made with Swarovski crystals by Dynasty Collection in Mobile, Alabama.

Queen Candace is so honored and blessed to be the 2019 Queen of Apollo’s Mystic Ladies!
