Robert Edward “Bobby” Rabb, born Dec. 5, 1951 in Monroe, La., a resident of Gulf Shores, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 of cancer at his brother’s home with his family at his side.

He traveled all over with his pipeline job, where he was a heavy equipment operator. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and dearly loved all of his family and friends. He never met a stranger and would give you the last dime in his pocket or the shirt off his back. He was a very special person.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Rabb Sr. and Mildred Tiwell Rabb Tolbird, and a brother, Jim Rabb.

Survivors include three daughters, Angel (Shawn) Cowan of Gulf Shores, Robyn (Justin) Mizell of Foley, and Crystal (Steven) Craig of Pennsylvania; four granddaughters, Ashlie Laren Cowan, Samantha Renee Craig, Catherine Elizabeth Craig and Breannna Diane Mizell, all of Alabama; three sisters, Fran (Roy) Holloway of West Monroe, La., Mary Kimble (John Hardy) of Fordoche, La., and Brenda Carr of Eros, La.; two brothers, Joe (Wanda) Rabb of Downsville, La., and Richard Rabb of Alabama; aunt and uncle, Clara and Vincy Tidwell; nieces, nephews, several cousins and his best friends, Jennie Parker and Kirk Sinus.

The family will host a get-together at a later date.
