George Henry Rains, 81, a native of Belforest and a resident of Daphne, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kate Rains, and a sister, Grace Egvedt.
Survivors include two sons, Hank (Peggy) Rains of Loxley and Paul (Brenda) Rains of Tibbie; two daughters, Lynne Brown and Rachel (Randy) Burt, both of Daphne; two sisters, Betty Manci of Daphne and Ann Bertagnolli of Ashford; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 10 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Fillingim officiating. Interment followed at Belforest Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chad Rains, Brian Rains, P.D. Rains, Chris Burns, Tony Burns, Cory Brown, J.R. Burt and Nicholas Burt.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or the Belforest Catholic Cemetery, County Road 64, east of U.S. Highway 98, Daphne.
