Ralph Marlon Harrison, born in Foley, Ala. on April 27, 1943, passed away on Aug. 11, 2015.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Elberta, Ala. Went to Foley High School where he met his sweetheart and wife, Karen. They were married for 53 beautiful years.
Marlon is survived by his wife, Karen; one son, Marlon Christopher Harrison and wife Emily; and two grandsons, Eli and Nicholas, all of Kansas; one brother, Milford Harrison Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He retired from Dairy Fresh Milk Corp. after 30 years as a milkman. He became a full-time farmer after that. Farming, baling hay and his cattle were his life. Being able to see his son and grandchildren enjoy the life of a farmer was his greatest joy.
Marlon was chosen Father of the Year by the Baldwin County Cattlewomen in 2012.
He had a lifelong dream of owning a feed store one day. This became a reality in 2005. He was able to buy a store and bring it back to life in Atmore, Ala., which is now Harrison Tack and Feed. He would get up early, drive up and come back each evening. He did this until he was no longer able.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, from 6-8 p.m., at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale, Ala.
