Norman Ramer, 77, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Gadsden.

He was a native of Perdido, a resident of Glencoe, since 1979, and attended the Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire Company after 24 years and a member of Local No. 12 Tire and Rubber Union.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Eloise Ramer of Glencoe; three sons, Eddie E. (Edna) Ramer of Attalla, Wendell Ramer and Clint (Susan) Ramer both of Glencoe; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; six brothers, Aubrey Ramer of Attapulgus, Ga., Curtis Ramer of Tuscaloosa, Robert Ramer of Bay Minette, Willie Ramer of Rabon, Arthur Ramer of Atmore and Vernon Ramer of Perdido; and two sisters, Vertis Davison of Bay Minette and Eula Lynn of Atmore.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 5 at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Gehman officiating. Burial followed at Bryars-McGill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Ramer, Jamie Ramer, Johnny Ramer, Willard Hill, Allen Turner, Olan Albritton and Jeffrey McVey.

Arrangements were made by Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Atmore.
