Charles Edward Randall, 81, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 in Foley after a lengthy illness.
He was born and raised in Tulsa, Okla. He was a veteran of World War II. He attended Oklahoma University, and graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in engineering physics.
Upon graduation, he joined Amoco Production Company as a geophysicist for 34 years. He was transferred to New Orleans in 1969. While headquartered in New Orleans, he was given assignments in New Guinea and Africa. He maintained residences in Madagascar, Qatar and Guatemala.
He retired in 1988 in New Orleans, and moved to Foley in 2005.
He was preceded in death by Dr. Owen Heath Randall, his mother, Helen Hubbard Meng Randall, and a sister, Thelma Jeanne Gilpin.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Beverly Randall; four daughters, Donna Randall (Frank) Shirley of Cumming, Ga., Linda (Dave) Doiron of Atlanta, Carol Randall (Mickey) Krefting of Houston, and Susan (Gordon) Gill of Baton Rouge, La; grandchildren, Lisa Underdown Closs, Lori Underdown Brooker, Claire Doiron, Jake Edward Randall Doiron, Katelyn Gill and Megan Gill; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Hallie and Stephen Closs and Julie Smallwood; identical twin brother, Dr. William S. Randall of Beloit, Kan.
A celebration of life service was held Saturday, Sept. 6 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley.
