LOXLEY, Ala. — Two Loxley men are now in the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette facing charges of rape and robbery.

According to Loxley police, Glenn Douglas Byrd, and Taylor Ryan Austin, both 22, have been charged with raping and robbing a 42-year-old female at gunpoint. Both have been charged with first-degree rape and first-degree robbery and are being held on $25,000 bail for each charge.

According to a Loxley police press release, the attack took place in the Sars community near U.S. Highway 90 and County Road 66 in Loxley. The attack was reported to Loxley police around 6 p.m. Jan. 1.

According to the release, “The victim reported she had given a ride to two black male subjects who she only knew by face. She reported the two subjects directed her to the Sars Community where they robbed her of her purse containing an undisclosed amount of money, cell phone, and prescription medication.”

The Loxley police searched the area with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama State Trooper’s Air Unit. Byrd was arrested Jan. 2 and Austin was arrested Jan. 4.
