ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- Raptors invaded Robertsdale Elementary School last week. Marianne Hudson, director of Auburn University's Southeastern Raptor Center, along with assistants Andrew Hopkins and Donna Brasher visited Robertsdale Elementary on Friday, March 15, bringing with them seven examples of their feathered friends from the center. Included among their flighted guests were three owls, a barn owl, a screech owl and a great horned owl or hoot owl, a falcon, a red-tail hawk, a turkey vulture and, of course, a golden eagle, one of the university's mascots. Students in grades pre-K through fifth grade attended the presentation in two groups on Friday. (Photos by John Underwood/Independent Staff)
