Ray Douglas Hartwell, 65, a native of Mobile and resident of Daphne, passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.
Ray was a graduate of the University of South Alabama, and a charter member of the Gamma Phi Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
He was a past member of Buccaneer Yacht Club.
He worked in the beer business for 40 years until he retired from Budweiser-Busch Distributing.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marion Ann Hartwell.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Crew Hartwell of Daphne; his father, Ray Brown Hartwell of Fairhope; two sons, Oliver Scott Hartwell (Ann) of Daphne and William Alan Ishee of Daphne; two daughters, Karen Ann Parsons (Kip) of Birmingham and Bailey Kathleen Hartwell of Fairhope; two brothers, Tommy Kent Harwell of Daphne and Terry Joel Hartwell of Maryville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Jack Parsons, Nathaniel Douglas Hartwell and Lucy Claire Hartwell; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m.
