John Kendrick Rayborn, 81, a native of Greenville, a former resident of Belforest, and a longtime resident of Fairhope, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

Known to many as Big John, Kendrick or Bill, he grew up in Belforest, farming with his family and later marrying Myrtle Black.

He was an enterprising large equipment operator through the years and had a passion for mechanics and especially fishing.

He loved and appriciated all of his family.

Survivors include a daughter, Terry (William) Dobson of Fairhope; grandson, Jonathan Dwight Grigsby of Fairhope; granddaughter, Rachel Lee Dobson of Fairhope; two brothers, Cecil Rayborn of Magnolia Springs and Bud Rayborn of Fairhope; sister, Ouida Davis of Fairhope; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with funeral services at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 3 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Interment will follow at Belforest Community Cemetery.
