Thank you so much for the Jan. 3 article in The Courier about the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute’s director coming to Fairhope on Jan. 4 for a presentation on “complete streets” policies in Baldwin County.

I am very hopeful that our community can serve as a model for others, regarding making streets safer for non-automotive traffic.

A cousin of mine was killed in Tallahassee, Fla. a couple of years ago, while bicycling, in a car versus bicycle accident, and this all hits close to home.

Additionally, I have two relatives with impaired vision, so I really appreciated, and I am sure others did as well, the large print “Want to go?” box at the end of the article.

Thank you very much, for your work in helping Fairhope residents become a more informed citizenry.
