President Bush is either morally bankrupt or completely deluded — or both.
His actions last week in vetoing the SCHIP legislation to provide millions of at-risk children with healthcare, while at the same time asking for $180 billion to continue his war for oil in Iraq, is simply shameful. The cost of the program is equal to one day of the Iraq War. Could we stop the war for one day Mr. Bush so children could have health care?
Add to that the fact that Bush’s lawyers are asking the United States Supreme Court to halt the execution of Jose Ernesto Medellin, an illegal Mexican who took part in the vicious gang rape and murder of two teenage Houston girls in 1993 on the grounds that such an execution would harm the image of the United States around the world.
Excuse me, what?
It is beyond comprehension that our president could be so devoid of sanity that he can send hundreds of thousands of our youth to a sand pit with no strategic value — oh yes, it does have oil. It strains human conscience that our president is so completely deluded that he thinks he can attack Iran, a country with far superior resources than Iraq, when our military is overstretched — and our federal checkbook is completely overdrawn. It is confounding that he thinks it is good policy to champion illegal alien serial rapist-murderers as a cause over the rights of brutally raped and murdered American girls.
It is without question that President Bush is morally bankrupt or simply deluded — or both.
