Reatha Dunson Calhoun, 91, died on Jan. 13, 2015 in Foley.
She was a resident of Foley for more than three years, a former resident of Tuscaloosa for more than 59 years and a native of Brighton.
She was an active member of Foley United Methodist Church, as well as a sustaining member of both Hargrove Memorial United Church and St. Luke Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Charles “M.C.” Calhoun; her parents, Charlie G. Dunson and Pernnie M. Dunson; her granddaughter, Amy Bennett Bellows; and her brother, G. Cecil Dunson.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Calhoun Bennett (John) of Montgomery and Janette Calhoun Walker of Foley; grandchildren, Matthew C. Bennett (Karen) of Montgomery, Regan R. Walker (Reda) of Foley, Laura W. Lyons (Owen) Mobile; Brent R. Bellows of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Jack and Will Bellows of Atlanta, Ga., Cal and Brady Bennett of Montgomery, Aurelia and Oliver Lyons of Mobile, and Harrison and Hunter Walker of Foley; nieces, Sharon C. Dunson of Center Point, Ione Lowery of Pleasant Grove and Melissa B. Roth of Boulder, Colo.; and nephew, Danny G. Dunson (Laura) of Gardendale.
Mrs. Calhoun was an active member of her churches, and was a charter member of Skyland Park Garden Club and Candor Study Club.
She was known to have a servant’s heart and the gift of hospitality. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted friend, she will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Graveside services will be held in Tuscaloosa on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Bennett, Regan Walker, Owen Lyons, Danny Dunson, Brent Bellows and James M. (Pete) Walker.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Foley United Methodist Church, 915 N. Pine Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Foley United Methodist Church (Spirit Center).
