Marion Earle Reese, 75 died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at his home in Fairhope following a battle with cancer.
He and his wife Elaine moved to Fairhope following the loss of their home in Pass Christian, Miss., to Hurricane Katrina. He made many new friends in Fairhope. His humor and love for parties brought many friends into his life.
He graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield, Ill.. where he played basketball and later graduated from Middle Tennessee State University.
He served during the Korean War conflict with the Sea Bee's in the U.S. Navy, followed by the Army National Guard as a Warrant Officer.
He taught high school mathematics at Marshall High School in Illinois before becoming a District Manager of Sales for Link Belt, and P&H Cranes.
He was an avid golfer, for many years he was a member of Pass Christian Isles and Quail Creek Golf Clubs where he made many friends. He loved boating and was a member of Fairhope, Pass Christian, and Pontchartrain Yacht Clubs.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope.
He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Club of Fairhope.
He loved football, especially the New Orleans Saints.
Every bit of energy was put into his last “Hoorah” at Thanksgiving with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Roma and Henry Earle Reese, and his former wife, Carol Hogan Reese.
Survivors include his wife Elaine; his best friend, his dog, Bear; five children, Michael (Kim) Reese, Susie (Jeff) Bishop, Elizabeth (Brad) Jones, Timothy Reese and Stephen Reese; three stepchildren, Rich (Holly) Peterson, Todd (Jana) Peterson and Rianne (Jimmy) Levy; two brothers Donny, Reese and Leland Reese; a sister, Elaine; grandchildren, Jenna (Chad) Raymond, Kiley, Austin, Sadie, Jolie, Tyler, Mary-Kate, Andrew, Aidan, Noah, Kristen and Chad; one great-grandchild, Jarin; and a dear friend, Art Pengelley
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
