Regions Bank names Kerry J. O’Connor as business banker, Eastern Shore market president

Kerry O'Connor brings thirty-one years of experience to his new role with Regions. Since 1995, he has spent a majority of that time in the Baldwin County market, generally responsible for managing the commercial and business banking activities as Whitney National Bank's senior vice president and city president. O'Connor has a strong background in banking, including executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Peoples Bank, purchased by Whitney National Bank in 1995. He served as vice president and real estate division manager with Altus Bank, vice president and general manager of Florida Property Management Group, Inc. and Marion Properties, Inc. and branch manager of SouthTrust Mortgage Corporation.

Regions Bank South Alabama Area President, Joel Daves, added, "Eastern Shore is a strong market for us. Kerry O'Connor will provide the management presence and leadership necessary to continue to our growth and expand our tradition of community leadership, excellent customer service and sound banking."

O'Connor graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in business administration. He received the honor of Dean's List with a concentration in finance.

O'Connor is very active in the Eastern Shore and Baldwin County community. He serves as board member of Thomas Hospital Foundation and of the United Way of Baldwin County. Currently chairman elect 2012-2013, board member, and governmental affairs committee chairman for the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, O'Connor also serves as community advisory council member of the University of South Alabama in Baldwin County. He also serves as associate council vice president of the Baldwin County Homebuilders Association. O'Connor enjoys hunting with his two sons, and is a board member and past president of the Mobile County Wildlife and Conservation Association.
