STOCKTON, Alabama — A Stockton man is facing up to 20 years in prison after officials say he confessed to the alleged sexual abuse of a minor relative.

Ryan O’Neal Robinson Jr. 26, of Stockton was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Facility on March 22, charged with sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, first degree rape and two counts of violating probation. He is currently in jail without bond.

Capt. Steve Arthur with the BCSO Investigations Command said the minor was admitted to the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center (CARE House) where the child issued a statement in which she named Robinson.

Robinson was picked up by Sheriff’s deputies and was booked after confessing to the crimes, Arthur said.

Robinson is a registered sex offender and has been in and out of jail on similar charges since 2011.

He was first booked on first degree rape charges in December of 2011, released on a $50,000 bond in February 2012. He was then booked in May of 2012 and spent 19 months in jail, released in January 2014.

Robinson was booked on a probation violation charge in July of 2014, released Sept. 25 and booked 12 days later, where he spent an additional seven months in jail before being released in June of 2015.

The latest charges are felonies, Arthur said, which could carry a 2- to 20-year sentence if convicted.
