James A. Reibel, 74, a native of Haubstadt, Ind., and a winter resident of Foley, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009.

He served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War and the Lebanon Crisis then was employed at Wilson's Catalog Showroom (now Service Merchandise).

Most recently he had managed an RV Park in St Louis, Mo., during the summer months for the past 11 years, and was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Fleet Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Reibel of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Layne Reibel of Ovledo, Fla., and Paula Reibel of Barbersville, Ky.; son, Jeffrey Reibel of Newburgh, Ind.; four sisters, Beverly Kruse of Elberfield, Ind., Joanne Stone of Ft. Branch, Ind., Janet Collins and Mary Sue Spindler, both of Haubstadt, Ind.; brother, Walter Reibel of Eddyville, Ky.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Jan. 6 at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 19059 Greeno Road, Suite A, Fairhope, AL 36532.
