FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Tim Lennicx, a firefighter with the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment and an employee of the Fairhope Electrical Dept., was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.
Lennicx will be undergoing treatment for Stage 4 brain cancer.
“Tim’s a fighter. All of the firefighters are standing behind him and his family to help him through this battle,” said FVFD Chief John Saraceno. “We all feel lucky to
have him as a friend.”
Lennicx, 40, is the father of three children, ages 15, 7 and 5. He has a long career in public safety, including service as a dispatcher with the Fairhope Police Depart-
ment for four years and as a police officer with the Fairhope Police Department for three years. He transferred to the city’s electrical department in 2007. He also
joined the Volunteer Fire Department and has been active with that organization.
Lennicx would like to take his children to Disney World while his health permits, and city employees have been collecting donations to help him realize that wish. A
fund has also been established at Community Bank in Daphne, located at Fountain Square, 2101 Highway 98, Suite K, Daphne, AL 36526 (not to be confused with First Community Bank).
Anyone wishing to donate may do so by sending checks payable to Fire Chief John Saraceno or Fire Department Treasurer Jimmy Cluster. The checks may be mailed or
delivered to the bank. The bank also has a night deposit. Donors should indicate “Tim Lennicx Relief Fund” in the memo portion of the check. Addressed envelopes
will also be available at Fairhope City Hall and the Fairhope Police Department on North Section Street and at the City Utilities Warehouse on South Section Street
in Fairhope.
In addition to the family trip, donated funds will be used for other expenses that may arise during treatment and the on-going support of Lennicx’s family.
