The AHSAA second round baseball playoffs will begin today after being postponed this weekend due to last week's devastating tornado outbreak in the state.
In Class 6A, Baldwin County (30-11) will visit McGill-Toolen (24-10) for a double header starting at 5 p.m. at the Lipscomb Complex in Mobile. An if necessary third game would be tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in Mobile. In 5A, defending champion Spanish Fort (28-6) will host St. Paul's in a double header starting at 4:30 p.m. today with an if necessary game tomorrow at a time to be determined.
The first round of the Class 6A soccer playoffs, originally scheduled for Saturday, will be played tomorrow statewide. In boys 6A action, Baker will visit Fairhope, Robertsdale will visit Davidson and Alma Bryant will visit Daphne at 7 p.m. For the girls, Daphne will host Murphy at 5 p.m., while Foley will play Mary G. Montgomery in Semmes and Fairhoipe will visit Baker.
The 5A soccer playoffs will also kick off tomorrow. The Gulf Shores boys will visit Eufala for a game at 6 p.m. The Gulf Shores girls will visit Carroll-Ozark, while Russell County will visit Spanish Fort's girls at 5 p.m.
