DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne residents from the TimberCreek and Lake Forest subdivisions expressed their concerns and opinions Thursday about the proposed plan to build a service road north of Interstate 10 along with an I-10 interchange at County Road 13.
State Rep. Randy Davis, R-Daphne, hosted the public meeting at Daphne High School; and while most residents stated they were in favor of the interchange, many said they were strongly against the service road being built.
“For the (interchange) to be tied to the service road is unbelievable,” TimberCreek subdivision resident Eric Smith said.
Davis offered three options to the residents.
“Option one is the interchange and service road. Option two is just the interchange, and option three is nothing,” he said.
Baldwin County engineer Cal Markert said the projects would “improve traffic, improve storm water quality and improve environmentally sensitive areas.”
