This week we outline another actionable idea that can be used to lasso the beast of burden that is the federal government.
First a brief recap.
In Part I, I discussed that with our nation near the brink of financial calamity, how most citizens could do a better job managing federal government finances.
Of course, the human challenge would be the proper handling of “other people’s money.”
Last week, in Part II, I provided Rasmussen polling data confirming the obvious “disconnect” between federal officials ensconced in Washington and the people back home.
Here’s the specific words: “79 percent of mainstream voters think Americans are overtaxed;” but that “87 percent of those in the political class don’t share that assessment or view.”
Now, another actionable idea to help regain direct control of the federal bureaucracy:
First – and we only need retain a few federal employees to carry out the following task – apportion to each state’s citizens that state’s percentage share of the current total federal operating budget.
Each state would be responsible for collecting the excise tax per citizen from each of its citizens. Carried out this way, such allocation and tax collection by each state circumvents any issue that this approach is a “head tax.”
Do this and watch how quickly the total federal operating budget will decrease as this citizen action will squeeze out of the federal government budget the truly unnecessary spending. At the same time this single action will serve to reacquaint elected officials and all Americans with the Founder’s framework for the U.S. Constitution.
Imagine … life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – every day – without the federal leviathan taxing and taking more and more.
Imagine, too the very real opportunity afforded to all who can choose to leave behind the doldrums on the government dole to step out in search of responsibility and individual achievement.
