Rev. Clay B. Grant

Rev. Clay B. Grant, 92, a native of Union City, Tenn. and resident of Bon Secour, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015.

Rev. Grant was a pastor, serving for 25 years at various United Methodist churches and Churches of the Nazarene.

He was also a master carpenter who enjoyed woodworking, and a WWII veteran who made the landing at Utah Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944.

Rev. Grant shared his war experiences eight times over a number of years with students at Millry High School in Millry.

He is survived by his daughters, Judith Ann Wheatley-Metsch of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Janet Kay Grant of Tampa, Fla. and son, Ronald Clay Grant of Loxley.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. The funeral service will follow at 2.

Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
