Edgar Latham Rhodes, 86, a resident of Spanish Fort and a native of Summerdale, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at his residence.
He was a graduate of Foley High School and received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Alabama Polytechnic School (Auburn University) in 1943.
Farming was the area he was educated and practiced. He and his brother Howard operated the Rhodes Brothers Farm for many years.
He was prececed in death by his wife Sara Frances Myers Rhodes; and his parents, Floyd Edgar Rhodes and Annie Elena Nutt Rhodes.
Survivors include two daughters, Rochelle Rhodes Lazzari of Daphne and Julie Rhodes (Mickey) Marshall; sister, Marie (George) Underwood of Summerdale; grandchildren, Gillian Frances Lazzari, Patrick Alan Lazzari Jr. and Myers Lee Marshall; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Pine Rest Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
